Cx500 Seat Build

A beautiful Honda CX500 built by ourselves. This is a fully re-built Honda CX500 1980. Throughout the re-build, we modified the frame to make our Complete Cafe Racer CX500 Seat Unit fit and then sent the frame off for powder coating along with the swinging arm, Yokes, side stand and many other little parts. new wheel bearings and head stock bearings were fitted.

The 1978 CX500 Standard had a large fuel tank, stepped seat, a round brake fluid reservoir and a plastic mini-fairing that was thought to look unusual at the time. Turn signals extend out through the mini fairing from the headlight's centerline. The CX500 Standard had silver Comstar wheels, 19 inch in front and 18 inch in the rear. The CX500 subframe is a strange one to work with, but I’ve found a way to modify quite easily to create a flat seat section, that still allows for good rear suspension. The tail was finished with a set of Gazi rear shocks , some Purpose Built Moto 3 in 1 Brake/tail/turn lights and a simple tail tidy mounted under the frame.
